Women’s Day Event 2015

Beauty, Elegance, Poise…. these were only a few words that come to mind when describing this past Saturday’s incredible event. The Women’s Ministry of the Sydney ICC celebrated their second annual Women’s Day! The theme was appropriately titled, “Let it Go”. The day was full of heart-felt presentations of young Christian women’s testimonies, as well as the testimony of Kerry Willis AND our visiting dearly beloved sister, Elena McKean. With much passion and conviction, the sisters who shared so vulnerably, impacted the lives of so many visiting friends who came out to witness the love of Christ and His purpose for all of our lives! Many women signed-up afterward to study the Bible and join the following weeks’ Bible discussions. It is safe to say that all of the sisters were “superlatively happy”! Our Heavenly King not only surprised us with such joy and encouragement from the sisters’ efforts, but even seeing the rest of the sisters step-up to the plate was all the more encouraging! Margot Clague and Jenna Loheed did an outstanding job at decorating the event with vibrant colors of blue and white on gorgeous posters and flowers, and Rahnesha White fantastically arranged three gorgeous gift baskets to raffle: tea and coffee, lollies and chocolates, and last but not least, a women’s spa basket! Finally, a very moving skit was brilliantly organized to the mainstream yet stunning and vulnerable song, “Who You Are” by Jessie J. The skit reminded everyone of how all of us come from different walks of life and even different hardships and trials. We were inspired as women to be encouraged to let hardship and broken-heartedness lead us back to God! 4 Overall, with just a little over ten disciples and amazing twenty-four friends present, God definitely “rocked the house” with his Spirit leaving many hearts impacted enough to study the Bible and the hearts of the sisters refreshed! As Jesus states in Mark 5:34, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” We know that there are so many more women whom need to be freed from their suffering! And, we pray wholeheartedly that the job will get done! photo (36)
