Binila makes Jesus Lord!

What great joy Binila’s addition has brought to the Sydney ICC! Beginning in June, the New Zealand mission team members started sharing from 12-6pm every Saturday with the goal of helping each member be personally fruitful. Binila was met on June 16th, the team’s second Saturday out. Binila is from Kerala, India and was raised in the Catholic faith. As she got older, Binila began to notice the the discrepancies between the Catholic traditions and the truth of the Bible. So, she started searching and eagerly desired to know the truth, but she just didn’t know where to go.

From the very first study we did with her, it was clear that Binila loved God and was a truth seeker. She no doubt had the heart to seek the kingdom first, however she had some significant obstacles in her path. Two years ago, Binila moved to Australia to pursue her masters degree against her parent’s wishes. Thus, she was forced to financially support herself entirely. At the time Binila was met, she was working two odd jobs which prevented her from being able to attend church events. Amazingly, God blessed her with an incredible job at Sydney University. However, she had planned a trip home to India during the time she was supposed to start her new job. Binila prayed and decided that to go to India would be denying God’s plans for her, so she cancelled her trip home, with no refund, took the job and started seeking God’s kingdom!

Binila continued studying the Bible, persevering and displaying an incredible amount of courage by breaking through tough emotional barriers and confronting her parents. It was amazing to watch God transform Binila from quiet and lonely, to a now joyful and confident woman of God. To God’s glory, Binila was baptized on August 2nd and is Sydney’s first Indian disciple!
