Keala studies Speech and Hearing Science at Arizona State University. She came to Australia on exchange for a semester to attend Macquarie University. Only a couple weeks after her arrival, she was drawn to disciples by free cupcakes and soon after began studying the Bible! Keala had grown up in an incredibly loving and supportive family who taught her to have a belief and love for God. Though she had a general understanding of the scriptures, she realised they had no lasting affect on her life and humbly took on the challenge to not just know the Word, but do it. As she dug deeper into the scriptures, she was confronted with the decision of whether she would live based only on traditions and fear of judgement of her friends or making the Bible alone her standard. Rather than just follow people, Keala made the effort to ensure she fully understood the commitment of what it meant to follow Christ. After much prayer, many questions and lots of advice, Keala was baptised into Christ on 3rd October 2018. Her journey to come to know Christ has since brought her a life of peace and full of purpose. Keala’s joyful spirit, loving nature and deep convictions that God’s word is the truth make her an indispensable part of the Sydney family.
