Two Queenslanders are Baptised in Sydney!

Christine and Alyssa, two of Griffith University’s top Psychology students, both set out to make the trip down to Sydney from Queensland to study the bible and learn more about becoming a disciple. Almost a year ago, both visited friends and family here in Sydney and happened to attend a service at the Sydney International Christian Church. Both were blown away by the love and fellowship of the Christians. After going back to Uni, they kept in touch with disciples and made plans to return to study the bible and see why this church was so different.
Two weeks ago, both travelled back to Sydney and eagerly studied the bible everyday for 2 weeks!
Alyssa (middle right) was baptised!
Alyssa had been searching for the truth and started visiting mostly Pentecostal-type churches. While studying the bible with the disciples, Alyssa was quickly blown away by understanding the bible and getting her many questions answered. She was thrilled to finally understand God’s plan for salvation from the bible. Alyssa got baptised at Maroubra Beach on Friday night after the campus bible talk!
The following Sunday, Christine was baptised after church as she has spent the weekend in prayer! Christine came from a religious family upbringing; however, she had been tuned off by their rigid ideology and hypocrisy. After studying the bible with the sisters, she was amazed at how simple and freeing Christianity really was! Inspired by Jesus, she made the decision to make Jesus Lord of her life!

Both of these awesome women’s greatest cost of making the decision to be a disciple was by far their decision to move down to Sydney from Queensland and live as true disciples before they were even baptised! What a great victory to see two best friends become sisters in Christ! And to God be all the glory!
