Shantel Bright was baptized today after two months of studying the bible virtually while living in Queensland! During the quarantine, our brother in San Francisco, Ashton Hughes, reached out to Shantel on a Christian Facebook page to ask if she would be interested in studying the bible. She had put up a couple of posts, sharing about her life and even a question about evangelism. Ashton connected her with Megan Loheed, and Megan and the girls in her flat started studying the bible with Shantel, pulling her into our virtual midweeks, bible talks, and Sunday services. Disillusioned with the various churches she had attended in Queensland, Shantel was seeking truth and desperately wanted to get right with God. She saw something different in the girls and what the church was doing in Sydney, and even later she said she was learning more from them than any church combined in Queensland. In discipleship, the girls called her to move here, and she agreed. She booked a flight to come to visit on her 18th birthday last week, and after continuing the studies, seeing the church, and deepening her relationship with God, she made the decision to just stay and get baptized! It was truly a miracle to watch her radically choose to seek first God’s kingdom!
